We are receiving recognition throughout the world in the field of display mate -rials for our cathode-ray tube phosphor and color-filter photoresist; our silicon wafer for semiconductors; our lithium-ion polymer batteries; and our black and color inks for inkjet printers and toners. The technology for the next-generation lithium-ion battery cells has been designated as one of Korea's Top Ten Technologies under the National Competitiveness Enhancement program. The technology that LG Chem has developed is extensive as well as diversified. HCFC-resistant resin, heat- and impact-resistant ABS, flame retardant ABS, and PBT polymerization are first-in-the-world products developed and commercialized by LG Chem. We have completed a vertical integration of our petrochemical lines. This raises productivity and operational efficiency and yields high-quality and multipurpose petrochemical byproducts, intermediates, synthetic resins, engineering plastics, and other functional products. An ample and stable supply of these is being supplied to downstream chemical makers. LG Chem has pioneered the development of new-concept catalysts, the continuous NPG manufacturing process, and a number of other unique processes. Our thorough pursuit of R&D has also resulted in a variety of specialty products for everyday life in general grade plastics, value-added enginee -ring plastics, and specialty grade epoxy resin.
